Praia Verde Suite Hotel is located in the heart of Eastern Algarve. Praia Verde (translated “Green Beach”) is part of Castro Marim county, a historical town known to be one of the last defensive strongholds of the region.
The main tourist attractions of the
county include Castro Marim’s castle and fort, the imposing dams along the countryside, the extensive marshes which are home for several bird species, and the pleasant coastal beaches.
Located just a few kilometres from Praia Verde is the historical city of Vila Real de Santo António. Some of the main reasons to visit this charming city include its traditional commerce as well as the proximity to Guadiana River which offers the possibility of paying a quick visit to neighbouring Spain while enjoying a relaxing boat trip across the river.
Within the county of Castro Marim you also find other
points of interest such as the various beaches close by, Guadiana River, the national forest, the traditional Portuguese town of Cacela Velha, Santa Rita village or the state-of-the-art Sports Complex.
Still among the surroundings of Praia Verde, you can find the city of Tavira about 20 Km away, also known as “Algarve’s Venice”. Gilão River stretches along the city, where several bridges and crossings connect both parts of town, including a Roman bridge which dates back to the Medieval Era. Tavira is also very commonly known for its numerous churches and chapels.
Other attractions include Ilha de Tavira beach, the Palácio da Galeria, the salterns and also Ria Formosa.
